Bush Kinder

At Lilydale North Preschool during 2nd and 3rd terms we run a fortnightly Bush Kinder program for the 4/5 year old groups. This program is held at the Old Pound Reserve which is located at the end of our carpark and offers a variety of safe natural play spaces and provides a rich flora, fauna and natural habitats and ecosystems for the children to explore.

Bush Kinder programs encourage children to play in, connect with and learn from nature. Through this program children will learn about dog awareness, snake and wildlife awareness, road safety, keeping their bodies safe in the bush and stranger awareness. The children will be taken on guided nature walks and have time to connect with and learn from the natural environment that surrounds them, through play, exploration, experimentation, imagination, curiosity and social engagement.
